Intel recently announced that the next-generation Xeon Scalable (Xeon Scalable) processor family (codenamed Cooper Lake) will implement a single interface with up to 56 cores.

Cooper Lake Xeon's x86 is the first to introduce standardized AI acceleration training features, supporting bfloat16, and is scheduled to be introduced to the market in the first half of 2020.

According to previously published information, Cooper Lake is built using Intel's fourth-generation 14nm process. Although the current Xeon Platinum 9200 series is also the highest 56 core 112 threads, but Intel said that Cooper Lake is an independent LGA interface, not a BGA dual-chip integrated package, the power consumption will be lower.

According to the news, Intel's new interface is expected to be LGA4189 (currently LGA3647), while the 10nm Ice Lake Xeon processor will continue to use LGA4189.

In addition, the Xeon Platinum 9200 series processors have begun to accept OEM orders, including Lenovo, HP, Atos, Penguin, Megware and so on.
